Nestled in the heart of Ide Hill, our community shop is more than just a convenience store; it’s a hub run by local volunteers for residents and visitors alike. What began as a humble shipping container back in 2011 has grown into a fully-fledged shop, cafe and Post Office, with some of the finest views in Kent. And the best part - every penny of profit is reinvested into the shop and projects in the local community.
IDE HILL COMMUNITY SHOP
Our shop sits at the centre of village life, owned and run by the people who use it. It offers everyday essentials and some special extras, from flowers and thoughtful gifts to artisan products sourced from local suppliers, as well as hampers carefully put together for every occasion and budget.
Our range continues to grow and evolve, so there’s always something new to discover. And with every purchase, you’re supporting something bigger: a shop that belongs to the village and helps our community to thrive.
YOUR LOcAL POST OFFICE
Alongside the shop, we offer a full range of Sub-Post Office services seven days a week. Letters and parcels can be sent via Royal Mail, with Parcelforce available for larger items. We also offer Amazon collections and returns.
Banking services include cash and cheque deposits, balance enquiries, cash withdrawals and bill payments (please note, cheques are not accepted for bill payments).
We also provide gift cards, postal orders and mail redirection for personal and business use. Travel Money is available via Click & Collect, along with mobile phone top-ups and Paystation services.
CAFE
Our café is a place to slow down. Set in the highest village in Kent, it offers sweeping views South across the Weald, best enjoyed with a hot drink and a homemade cake.
Whether you’re meeting friends or taking a quiet moment, the atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming and unhurried. And whatever you choose, it comes with the knowledge that every penny of profit goes straight back into supporting the shop and the community around it.
