COMMUNITY DONATIONS

APPLY FOR A DONATION FROM THE IDE HILL COMMUNITY SHOP FOR YOUR GOOD CAUSE

Since the pandemic the Directors have worked hard to develop a strategy that will ensure the shop survives the rising levels of inflation, whilst being cognisant of the impact on all the customers who are facing increased costs of living. This has meant that the shop has not been in a financial position to make donations to good causes in the village since 2021.

The Ide Hill Shop has been set up, under the Articles of Association, as a Community Interest Company. It is expected to distribute its’ surplus funds to the Community and demonstrate how it is benefiting the Community and involving its stakeholders. Seeking applications for donations is one way it achieves that.

The Directors determine each financial year whether any monies can be donated for the benefit of the Community. They also determine the amount that is prudent to allocate for distribution to worthy Community projects or organisations. We are delighted to announce that we are once again in a position to invite applications from our community organisations for donations. This has always been an important part of the ethos of our village shop, giving back to the community that supports us. This year it is envisaged that there should be a minimum of £10,000 in total, available for donations.

The Directors aim to facilitate the award of any donations by the end of August.

If you would like to apply for a donation this year, please email idehillvolunteers@gmail.com and we will send you the application form.

The closing date for the receipt of applications is 31st May 2024. Decisions will be made by an independent panel, made up of members of the community.
